Re: La Cie d2 52x24x52 External FireWire CD-RW Drive Any opinions about this drive? The only negative thing I've read about it is that it doesn't work with iTunes -- at least not with version 4.0.1. Is that true and is it likely to be important? (I will start using my OS X volume soon!)
Do they use a Yamaha mechanism? Amazon is selling it for $125 including shipping, which seems the best price on the web. I'm mostly thinking about buying it because I have a store credit from Borders Books that's good at Amazon. (It's only good for items shipped by amazon, not third-party ones, and it's tricky to use it!) I also noticed that there's a large number of 52x24x52 EIDE drives listed. Are these really made by different manufacturers, or are they just repackaged? And can they be made to work with EIDE-capable Macs? -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
