I bought a USB PCI card that I am planning to install in an 8600/300 with
8.6. How would I go about doing this, including software info, etc.

It must be an OHCI compliant card. Most cards are, these days, since Windows XP only supports OHCI, too, but many old Windows cards were a different standard UHCI, which will not work.

Get the USB Support download from Apple, <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=31132>

Shut down the computer, install the card in an open PCI slot.

Start up, and run the USB support installer.

Reboot, use your USB stuff!
