I have a beige 20" Colorsync monitor (850) which has a problem.
The picture is distorted, it's never more than 2/3 of the width of the screen. The greater the resolution and the refresh rate, the narrower and fuzzier the picture goes.
The height is ok and if I really adjust the height I get a perfect picture at 1024x870/60 Hz. Unfortunately it has very wide black borders, about 6 cm (2 1/2") wide...
At higher rates the picture quality gets rapidly worse and soon it's nearly impossible to make changes in the Monitors control panel.
I have tried the monitor with a 8600 (built-in video) and OS 9.1, with the adb cable connected. I have understood that the necessary extensions are included in the standard install of the OS.
Is it serious or very serious (irreparable)? Or is it the software?? How do I return the monitor to the factory defaults?
Thanks
