Not good news, this being based upon your fault description and my past experience of repairing these. It is repairable, if you can find somewhere willing to repair it rather than just trying to sell you a new monitor, but it certainly won't be an economic repair. Its time to look for another monitor.

What a pity, the calibration feature would have been nice. I guess I'll use it as an oversized 17" monitor as long as it lasts.
