The 9500 has a PCI card as its only standard video. Same as the 9600.

I had no trouble booting from a 9600 with only the Radeon 7000 installed.

Of course, the first screens were a little weird, until the default 
resolutions (or whatever) were changed to something my 20" 1152 x 870 monitor could 
handle.
