The Finder itself is the software.  When you insert a blank CD, the finder
should be asking you what to do with it.  Go to System Prefs and click on
CD&DVDs.  Here you'll get to choose several options of what to do when you
insert a  blank CD, DVD, photo disc, music CD, etc.  Just set it up to your
liking.
