Hello, PCI-PM'ers,

I am trying to get the new HP Deskjet printer I bought for my wife running
on her PM 8500. I bought an IOGEAR GCI220U board, seeing that it supports
OS 8.6 and above (she's running 9.1), but found that it has drivers only for
OS X.

When I called IOGEAR (after purchase -- BAD mistake), they pointed out to me
that their website says the board requires a G3 or better under the hood.
Buy.com's web page made no mention of the requirement... I shoulda checked
the mfr's site.

IOGEAR tech support said that their C2XC01 board would work in my 8500 IF
its PCI slots are 32-bit. The 8500 manual from Apple:

http://manuals.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Manuals/desktops/0309028APM
8500UM.PDF

says that cards must be "compliant with the PCI 2.0 standard."

Question 1: Are the slots in the 8500 32-bit?

Question 2 (better late than never <lopsided grin>): So what board do you
folks use for USB 1.1 in your PCI-PM?

TIA,

-- Joshua
