I had a vga monitor hooked up to my 8600 through an adapter. Worked fine.
Moved computer to another room. Now no video. Monitor and adapter both check out on another computer. So....is it my card? or could it be something else?
Should I try to get another card off the swaplist? Should I just get a pci card? Will a pci card work if the original monitor port is blown?
Considering the limitations of the machine (and I plan on keeping it awhile) what kind of card should I get?
TIA,
Stan

Chances are your machine got bumped. Just try to reseat the video card. Buying a new card is entirely optional until you determine
your present one is dead.
