As I recall, IDC stands for Insulation Displacement Connector and refers to the way it works with ribbon cables (crimped on). I've always referred to the 2-row square-pin connectors used by SCSI and IDE as header connectors. I could be wrong in either case or both. ----- Jeffrey J.
