The L2 is  "sometimes" a problem with G3 upgrades. It is supposed to be disabled
by the G3/G4.  The G3/G4 upgrade has its own L2 on the daughterboard, but on
occasion the original L2 card could be recognized and cause a conflict. (I've
left them in numerous XLR8, PowerLogix and NewerTech upgraded Macs with no
operational differences seen after removing them, but I did have a few start up
problems with a Sonnett upgraded mac until I removed the cache.)

Best rule: remove to be safe, since it isn't used anyway.
