PCI PM'ers,
I recently put a 128MB RAM stick into my wife's PM8500, bringing it to a whopping 208MB. She reports that it seems to her that applications are quitting more slowly -- maybe three times slower, though we don't have measurements. Any ideas?
Here's some of mine ;)
1. You could have accidently or inadvertantly de-interleaved the ram, which would have slowed down your computer by about 15-30%
2. You could have used a slower speed ram module then the optimum speed module for your computer and thus forced all the other ram modules to run at that slower speed.
3. You could have defective ram.
4. It might help to reset your pram or press your cuda button.
Interleaving is where you have the exact same type of ram in the corresponding slots (i.e. 64mb module in A1 & b1, 128mb module in a3 & b3, etc.) That allows your computer to write and read to ram at the same time rather then seperatly, resulting in a speed increase.
