Are you sure you are using the newer version of powerplug as the tech article says? I assume yes, if so there is also a link on that search page for troubleshooting QuickTake connections as well.

Doing a search for QuickTake on Apple's site will get you a bunch of
stuff, one notes that PowerPC Macs need different software to work,
another says you have to use the modem port.
