>Any problems putting a Sonnet G3/333 daughter card in a "Kansas" Mach >V logicboard (8600250)...?
No, but I'd recommend a "Six Slot Edition" (SSE) card if you have a 9500 or 9600. Of course, "Kansas" refers specifically to that architecture employed in 250 MHz and faster 604ev-powered 8600s and 9600s. Although 604 CPU cards are specific to an architecture (604e -> non-Kansas, 604ev -> Kansas), the G3 upgrade cards usually are universal. Some handle the Kansas architecture better than others, and/or handle six-slot mobos better than others. My personal preference is NewerTech G3 upgrade cards (not ZIFs) for just about anything (they're cheap, reliable, and work in non-Kansas as well as Kansas mobos) and SSE cards in my better 9600s. I don't use 9500s for much except compatibility testing, anyway, so these machines usually get hand-me-down 604e cards from my faster 9600s, which, in turn, get NewerTech G3 upgrade cards, or SSE cards. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
