Hello
I wonder if anyone can recommand an ide drive that'l be bootable in os 9.1. My 'puter is a 9600 / G3-450 and has a tempo ata100 card - an hd connected so far , so a spare slot for a cd drive.
I've just busted the tray on my cd drive with my knee (I know, carelessnes is no excuse, but them's the facts)
Anyway, I need one that'll allow me to use the bootable discs for disk warrior etc
any advice or warnings greatfully accepted. Thanks in advance
Tim Roberts
Don't know if this is helpful to you, but when I installed an Apple 32x IDE CD-ROM via a Tempo ATA66 card in my 9600/g4/450 it worked great but would not boot.
I seem to remember that the CD trays are relatively easy to replace. If you could find a dead Apple CD-ROM to salvage the tray from it might be an easy fix. If you were in the states I could send you the tray from a dead Apple 24x SCSI for the cost of shipping, but it's probably not worth it for the cost to ship overseas.
