Video would be my first guess. Try a PCI card. Does it even give video before you boot? Do you get the happy mac? Maybe rebuild the desktop?

I recently restarted my 7500/100 (many months in mothballs) and I have a vertical band of magenta that moves across a grey screen when I move the mouse. I can access the HD's via ethernet from other macs but I cannot get a desktop. Any suggestions?

I needed to access a floppy, and I haven't had to do so i quite some time. I don't know why I didn't get a desktop for four tries but but I have used this computer for various things in the past. Perhaps it is just obstinate.
