My wife's 7220 had trouble reading floppies. Then it died. The replacement 7220 refuses to open any floppy; no matter what, it comes up with "This disk is unreadable by this computer. Would you like to initialize the disk?".
I tried PC-format discs. i tried Mac-formatted ones set on my 9600.
I tried formatting them on the 7220, which results in "Initialization failed. The disk is faulty". The floppies are NOT faulty. They work just fine on my 9600.
