Thanks for the help... but I'm afraid it has not helped. No matter what I try all it does is bring the light on, fan and initial hard disk spin up - then no more. No start up chime. I have confirmed that it was fully working when dispatched and it was packed really well. If something had gone amiss in the CPU wouldn't the newertech G3 one from my 8500 work? It has 4 little switches on it, currently all in the off position, would they stay the same in an 8600? Sorry for delays - I'm in Digest Mode and really struggling on a 6100 that is stuck for memory. We are peasants struggling on a drought stricken farm and rely on the computer for business and sanity so any help is really appreciated. Thanks, Wil Rural Queensland, Australia
