I have a PowerTower Pro (six-slot PCI) with a Sonnet 800 MHz G4 processor and an ATI Radeon 7000 digital Video card. I am running 9.2.2 with OS9 Helper, everything works great, and I am very happy with the system.
Recently, I tried to add a USB PCI card to get audio in and out digitally. I didn't try for USB 2.0, which I thought would be a stretch, so I got a regular "OrangeLink+" 1394/USB PCI combo card. The Firewire works OK with my Firewire drives and the USB works with my digital camera, but the only thing hanging me up is that I can't seem to get the right combination of USB Extensions and Sound CP to recognize USB sound, in and out. The particular USB sound device that a I am trying to use is a Griffin PowerWave USB sound interface. So, the question is, is it possible to get USB sound to work on a PTP running OS 9.2.2? If so, what are the particular USB extensions (with version numbers) and Sound CP (version) required to make it work?
