I put a 8500 mobo in my 7600 case and that worked fine - I wanted to be able to use the TV as a screen and that also works but the screen on the tv is monochrome with deep shadows - why is it so, will it improve with bigger processor and/or more ram !?? I connected it through the video scart in.

Try a thorough cleaning of the connection with electronic contact cleaner and a stiff brush.
