The composite out on the Archimedes was monochrome anyway... it uses the same piece from the BBC Micro, its predecessor. You could always try settings the output on the Mac to SECAM to see if it works.

Which version of PAL is used in Sweden? We use PAL I in the UK, but there are other versions that are slightly incompatible (most notably the version in Brazil that uses 60hz rather that 50hz.) Also, if this is coming through SCART, is the device providing the source capable of sending composite signals or is it sending RGB or some other encoding scheme? What does the Mac hardware expect? I remember getting an old Archiemedes to run on a regular TV using the composite channel, except it was black and white because it was sending RGB (or some other scheme) encoded data and the TV couldn't decode it properly.
