It had been working fine for a couple of weeks and today it stops working.
The lights flashing to give you information about troubles are the paper
jam alternating with the out of paper indicator. Only one of the two is on
at a time, ie:
jam, out, jam, out, jam, out, etc.
Anyone know what this indicates? Is the printer dead?
Len,
I just took a look at the manual, it states "If the Paper Out and Paper Jam lights flash alternately, or if they both stay on, the printer requires service. If you have just installed a hard disk or additional memory (RAM) in the printer, there may be a problem with the installation."
If you want, I will be happy to take a couple of screen shots of the parts of the manual dealing with paper jams and send them to you off-list. Just let me know if you need them.
I would recommend looking around some more for a small piece of paper lodged in one of the feed rollers near the paper tray. If you pull the paper tray out, then put it back, and turn the machine off and then back on, do you still get the alternating blinking lights?
