Hi; had a question:
I know the standand procedure, when changing from a 604 processor to a G3, is to remove the L2 cache simm in the motherboard, but my situation may be a little different. My (incoming) G3 processor has only a 512k backside cache. My 7600, with the soon-to-be-replaced 604e 200mhz processor, has a 1mb L2 cache simm. Given that my current L2 sim is larger than the G3 backside cache, should I leave it in there? If I do, which cache will the processor use? Or, does the speed of the motherboard render the larger cache size still worse than the smaller G3 backside cache? Thanks... -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
