>>Uhh what is a "Black Box KVM"? Active vs non active?? KVM = Keyboard, Video, Mouse (normally used in "KVM switch") Active = Simulates presence of K,M even when switched to different computer Non-active = Just a physical switch Black Box = Company that manufactures a lot of hardware for networking, etc.
A KVM allows one to use the same keyboard, monitor, and mouse for multiple computers. An active KVM prevents the keyboard and mouse from being reset for each computer when switched; Essentially, it simulates the keyboard and mouse presence for the computers that are switched out so they appear to still have a keyboard and mouse attached. It prevents a lot of strangeness... What I was saying is that I have Mac's and PC's connected to the same physical USB keyboard and mouse through a KVM, and it works flawlessly. Whether the KVM is actually doing some kind of translation to make it work, I don't know. My guess is no... --> Russ -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
