I've ordered 512 megs of ram for my 9600, and am now
looking around for a sytem 9.1 disk for it. The
descriptions of the 9.1 disks for sale from OWC say
that the machine must have a G3 processor upgradein order to install 9.1. Is that true of all 9.1 install
disks or just the OEM disks? Do I really need to
transplant my G3 card from the 9500 to the 9600 before
I can install 9.1, or is there some kind of
workaround?
I don't know about system-specific disks but the retail version will install fine without a g3/g4 processor.
