The old HP DeskWriters are dirt cheap at various used computer shops, 
and so are their ink cartridges.  They are not fast, but they do a good 
job at black text and a pretty good job with color.

The older Apple serial printers are also plentiful.  For that matter, 
you can pick up older LaserWriters and put them on a network for all to 
share.  Talk about cheap to operate!
