I've found that using cleaning chemicals like windex, etc. than have ammonia in them will cause major discoloration over time. Definately stay away from any products containing ammonia.

I haven't used ammonia products for computer cleaning. My first choice has always been Isopropyl ( rubbing ) alcohol . This generally works quite well. The higher strength is preferred.


For heavy tobacco smoke and grime and yellowed plastic the kind of plastic cleaner sold for computers, especially the kind from electronics suppliers
is often needed and does a better job.
