Hi again,

Sorry to be such a pain in the butt, I've got a new
problem with my new 9600.

I have a local ISP that I use on my 9500 with system
8.5.1 and my iMac with 10.1.5. No problems whatsoever.

I transferred all the settings to the 9600 running
8.1, and everything seems to connect fine. Open
transport PPP status monitor shows a connection as
does the internet dialer but IE 5.1 can't find any
URLS.

I find all the internet config stuff in 8.1 very
scattered and confusing. I am able to connect fine
through AOL, then launch IE 5.1, and it works fine,
but I can't get a local number for AOL, so it's
expensive.

Can I transplant the Apple Remote Access extension
from 8.5.1 to 8.1.? I find it far less confusing than
the 8.1 configuarion stuff.

What might I be doing wrong with ppp connection that
prevents IE from seeing the net when I go through my
local ISP via PPP?

Running Open Transport 1.3.1

Thanks in advance.

Steve
