So maybe its taken this long for the issue to appear?  Maybe it has just
recently been corrupted enough, or used enough space, or whatever actually
caused it, that its now a problem even though its been a non-issue up until
now.  Somebody mentioned something like this the other day:  Software has
limits, but the limits are rarely mentioned.

Its rarely a good idea, _ESPECIALLY_ on a Mac where type and creator are
used, to keep old versions of programs around on your hard disk.  My comment
above still may apply to this as well.  I can think of several possible
scenarios which may seem bizarre, but are perfectly understandable from the
software standpoint (not that I know any of them are happening).
