Its rarely a good idea, _ESPECIALLY_ on a Mac where type and creator are used, to keep old versions of programs around on your hard disk. My comment above still may apply to this as well. I can think of several possible scenarios which may seem bizarre, but are perfectly understandable from the software standpoint (not that I know any of them are happening).

I switching OSes three times and 3 versions of Eudora lite. I had files floating around I never even dreamt of. So I I agree of course with Russ. When you start having other system problems and creation dates get jumbled then some surprises are in store with Eudora as well as some other programs with old files and extensions being accessed on startup
