Yesterday, for no apparent reason, my keyboard went wacko. The middle of the keyboard is OK, but when I try to type an apostrophe (;), I get the semi-colon. I I try to type quotation marks, (:), I get the colon. -that;s what I get when I try to type a question mark. , when I type the slash.
The :at: symbol will not work( !) , but the 2 will. The exclamation mark comes out (whatever that is) `-These are the left & right brackets. However, the plus & minus just above them are fine. I thought perhaps the numbers lock key had gotten depressed by mistake. Nope. (I use Outlook Express for mail). For the Mac, I need to depress the numbers lock key & various other key combinations to come up with foreign punctuation or accent marks. I know the rest of my computer a lot better than I know anything about my keyboard. No instructions, except to just plug it in. LOL This is what I get for the capital shifted brackets, & question mark & for lower comma, period (these are OK) & the last is the slash.(?,.) '" There is a key on the far right of my keyboard that shows a vertical line & below it, a reverse slash. I get the apostrophe & the quotation mark when I use that key? LOL Well, at least I;ve found those, even if on wrong key. There must be a keyboard control setting somewhere, but I don;t know where to find it. I've (I used the slash mark to get this apostrophe)had my 6500 almost 7 years & have never had a problem before. This is the keyboard that came with my Mac. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ginny -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
