Greetings: Between my home, business & my sis-in-law's house, I have a total of six PCI Macs w/ G3 upgrades, either Sonnets or Newer's...
Of late, I have noticed that on occasion, the Sonnet machines get hungup during startup while loading the extension (Cresendo) for the G3 processor. One machine runs 7.6.1 w/ a G3 300/1mb; the other runs 8.1 w/ a G3 500/1mb, but both have this problem. Now today, I tried "downgrading" from the Sonnet extension 2.0.2 to the 1.3.7, since I noticed that the 2.0.2 was for the G4 also. So far, so good; the 1.3.7 Sonnet G3 extensions did not seem to cause a hang-up on startup.. My question is why is this happening, and does anyone know of a solution? Thanks, Craig W.
