Dear Jeff,

Not that I can see. It did give instructions on how to :rotate: (oops, those
were supposed to be quotation marks to default setting. I followed those
instructions just before typing this reply. Obviously, that did not work.
There is a numbers lock key somewhere (maybe not marked as such, or a
combination of control keys) as there is a caption at the top right of my
keyboard that lights when it is used, mentioned somewhere, but I don;t have
one on my key board (Just the original Mac extended keyboard that came with
my 6500). There is even a numbers lock clear button on the numbers pad on
the right of my keyboard, but don;t know what locks the numbers in the first
place. There is a caps lock, which lights up on this small rectangle at the
top when I use the caps lock on the keyboard & I just hit it again to unlock
the caps, but I do not see a num. lock function key.

I have not gotten fancy with my keyboard but know there are certain control
& letter combos for various punctuation for foreign languages & shortcut
commands. I have a copy of those instructions, but haven;t used them much.

Anymore suggestions from anyone. Even educated guesses. LOL. I LIKE my
keyboard, I don;t want a new one.
Ginny

Obviously, there will be a lot of punctuation errors in this post.

I have assigned :hotkey: functions to the F1, etc. numbers at the top, but
they are not involved with this problem. Now, if I use the vertical mark
backward slash key, I can get it to print the apostrophe & shift for
quotation marks. The right & left bracket keys are affected, the colon-semi
colon keys, the question mark-forward slash keys and at the top, the first
key on the left, then the shifted symbols above l, 2, & 3, but the numbers
themselves are OK. The numbers & symbol keys from then on straight across
the keyboard seem OK. I am really stumped. I will get out the old 6500
manual, but I don;t remember any instruction section except just plug it in.
LOL.
