Dear David,

You hit the nail on the head with that one!  Somehow, not only English had
been "checked" on the Keyboard Layout, but "Spanish" had gotten checked,
too, somehow.  I "unchecked" that, but still wasn't right.  Went to the icon
on the toolbar showing American flag & on the drop-down menu, the Spanish
flag showed up. Unchecked that & now everything is fine.

Thanks so much to everyone for their help. And yes, I will clean my keyboard
just for good measure! LOL
