I have had a recent experience in upping my G3/4 upgrade clock and bus speed that may be of relevance here (I have an XLR-8 G3 card in my 7300 but my recent experience was on a 7600 with a Powerlogix card): Before installing the new card or altering the jumpers, assuming you can successfully start the machine with some CPU or other, choose base extensions in Extensions manager, add in any essentials that the card you are wanting to try might need and nothing else. Turn off machine. Now, do the switching or installing. Try a bus speed of less than 50 to begin with, (see your literature or CD). Press the CUDA button down. Fire up and hope for the best. Remember that the bus speed set on the upgrade CPU card must be within the range of your motherboards capability, it is not necessarily at the max.
