Could you elaborate a bit more on exactly which extensions to trash from Explorer 5.0, after upgrading to Explorer 5.1.7?
all of them except the ones used by other applications - check their version and creation/modification date ? everything that spells microsoft, OLE extension is used by outlook if I remember correctly and possibly by adobe pagemaker perhaps, turn them off in extension manager and see what happens, I found extensions from 3, 4 & 5 that were not needed, also check helpfiles etc, I run 5.1.7 with 3 times the suggested size - otherwise it will ask for more memory if you have more than one window open.
