Could you elaborate a bit more on exactly which extensions to trash from Explorer 5.0, after upgrading to Explorer 5.1.7?
I use Outlook Express, so I need to keep anything for Outlook, but don't have any e-mail from the old Explorer 5.0.
Go to the Extension folder and move any files beginning with Microsoft or MS into a holding folder. Someone suggested using Extension Manager but IIRC many of those files don't show up in Extension Manager. After you put them in a holding folder run all your M$ apps (except Explorer 5.0) and see if any complain.
