virtual memory is on ? off ? memorysetting cache is to small ? 
something is bad with the scsi cables ? there are server aliases or 
some other app that is trying to dial up somewhere to a remote 
connection ?  vram memory is to little or failing, will disconnecting 
the cdrom etc make a change ?
