---I don't get why somebody would stick with a 5400 when they can get a 7500 that has 8 dimm slots and 3 pci slots. It is so rediculously easy to work on. I'll sell the one I have now that has an Apple 200mhz processor for 50 bucks. I'll throw in all the spare ram I have lying aound the house for it too.
Well, first off, it's a 5500/225 with a 400Mhz G3 processor card.
The original chassis was a 5400/180 which was given to me. I did upgrade to a 5500/225 logic board. Cost me $30 or so.
I like the machine. It's just the right size for where I have it.
The OS 9 disks were free, so it's costing me nothing to upgrade. The first 64MB DIMM was bought a few years ago. The second 64MB DIMM was bought when I bought the logic board.
I like what I have, it would be useful if I could have more than 128 MB of RAM, but it's not essential.
