The ROCK ! and I exchanged;

Actually it happens in the first 30 seconds. It's been going on for
several months now. It started with 4.79 then I upgraded to 6.2.3 which was
fine for a while but then a month ago it too began crashing/freezing. (This
happens only with ebay, of course 4.79 has problems on other sites, probably
javascript issues. 6.2.3 gives me no problems except on ebay and by the way
,now that I think about it, it's very slow when it comes to retrieving my
emails). Luckily I have Mozilla. So far so good with Mozilla (also very slow
retrieving my email. Funny thing is 4.79 is very fast when it comes to
retrieving my email from the server. It, however, has problems with some of
my mail, maybe javascript issues).
I don't like using IE in any transaction involving money (I wonder why!).
So I don't use it on ebay or paypal. I have netscape 7.x at work and it has
no problem on ebay. I wonder whether this will work with my system -
7600/G3/OS 9.0.4
Peter.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Is there a chance that some setting or extension change has been made ? I assume you dump caches regularly.

It was said last week that NS 7 will work with OS 9. I still have not had time to see for myself. I thought that was why I downloaded NS 6 rather than 7 months ago as I thought 7 was for OS X only.

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Well a quick look at the NS 7 DL page says NS 7 needs OS X .

All reports to the contrary must have omitted a crucial element. ( A silly little detail like an installation of OS X perhaps ! 8*} ) ( Just having fun here folks )

But the question arises again. Even if NS 7 worked with OS 9 given the processor speed range that most of us on this list probably use ( say
75 - 450 MHz ) wouldn't we still perceive it as slower than the browser we are used to? Again because of the code bloat .
Yes, NS 7 may do better accessing of some sites and may be a valuable tool in your box for that reason, but something with a better balance and fit to our old machines would probably serve us better for general surfing.

Overmatching of OS and other software has been well discussed here previously. And that's why some here still prefer 8.1 or 8.6 etc. .
