Well, I have a BUNCH of Zip drives (internal SCSI, external SCSI, 
internal parallel, external parallel) and a Jazz drive. The Jazz does 
have a hole on the front. I suppose it was an engineering decision as the 
mechanism inside is rather simple looking and ejecting from the rear 
makes it easy to hit the necessary part. Or, maybe, they were afraid too 
many folks would break the rather fragile parts by sticking things inside!
