I want to keep the 7300 as pre-OSX as possible, and its nice to have a computer on the home network that still has a floppy drive and serial ports. I have an old Kodak Digital Science DC40 that plugs into the 7300 printer port (its the same technology as the QuickTake 150 but better). I have a Wired4DVD PCI DSP video card and the Digital Origins MotoDV and PhotoDV with Firewire PCI but I have not installed them. (Maybe I should...and a Sonnet 500 Mhz G3 card).
My other PCI Mac is an antique Daystar Genesis MP800+ running Jaguar with Orange Micro USB and FireWire, 1.5 Gigs of RAM, Sonnet controller & two EIDE drives, and a 800 MHz Sonnet G4 processor. They share the network with a LW630 Pro, the kids' G4 eMac, DV SE iMac, my G4 iBook and my wife's B&W G3. EVERYTHING is running Jaguar or Panther except the 7300. It looks very friendly. M > > From: MacAddictvja <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>> > I added a controller card so I can connect an additional drive. Took the 16MB video > RAM from my dead G3 Blue & White, installed that, USB, DSL, G3 500Mhz CPU upgrade. I also use 8.6 and 9.1. I was reading a post somewhere that it might be possible to connect DVD to the older PowerMacs? That would be cool. I like my older PM 7300/500 (G3) because I can still use all my old SCSI devices, and also USB. I need some better speakers now ....... and 1GB of RAM for the beast!! > > -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
