Hi,

I finally figured it out with the help of a great web site. Apparently I suffer from a not a very well known problem with the prefence files. On the site it mentioned creating a new user and trying that. Well I did what they said, logged in with the new user and I have no problems at all, If I go back to my original account, I still have the problem. They also list ways to fix the problem.

Something is seriously hosed with your OS X install. I'd nuke the drive and start over on a freshly formatted disk.
