I have a G3 9600/300 that has OS8.6 on TWO internal 4-Gig hard drives.

I put a floppy disk into the computer and it took FOREVER to appear on the
Desktop and then I could not run the installer script on it or copy it to a
Folder on the Desktop without getting a Disk Error.
I tried it with four different disks. I got the same results.

Every command to mount the floppy disk, open or close the window, or launch
the software on the floppy locked the computer up for 30 seconds or more.
Then I got a Disk Error.

I figured the floppy drive was dead or dying.

I restarted the computer off the other internal hard drive. Also running
OS8.6.
When I inserted the same floppy disks they all worked perfectly.
They all mounted instantly and responded to mouse clicks properly and
installed the software without any Disk Errors.

Any idea what the problem is or should I just do a clean install and move
along ??
