You want this setup if you can get the pieces. ADSL modem->ethernet
router->Mac and PC. Leave out the USB business if you can. I have a
SpeedStream ADSL modem and Linksys BEFSR41 Etherfast Cable/DSL Router (4
ports). From the router I have a cable to this iMac, another to my wife's PC
1.4 Celeron (W/XPPro) (way downstairs), another to my Performa 6320cd, and
the fourth to an eight port Linksys Ethernet hub, to which I have a
Laserwriter Pro (360 or 630), my G3tx project machine (OS 10.2), and a PC
P-III 700 (W/200)connected. All the computers can go online simultaneously.
I *think* that with a little work I can get the PC's to use the Laserwriter
(all the Mac's can now) and I *think* that the OS 10.2 and Windows XPPro
machines can share files and I *think* that I can get the other Macs (all
the Macs see each other and share files) to share with the PC's if I install
Dave (from Thursby software.
