As far as stability issues.. I really haven't seen a difference between 8.6
& 9.x. But others may have more input there..

2.) Imac install cd's are a real crap shoot when it comes to machines they
weren't packaged with.. I have had good luck with a grey OS 9.1 Imac
install, but I would recommend getting an OEM version of the os you want.

3.) This is a question that really should not be asked.. If Photoshop and
what have you were on the computer when you bought then you are using
pirated software and you should delete it from your hard drive.. I realize a
lot of people don't do that and use those programs.. But take the advice and
either purchase the software to legally use it go get it off your hd..
