Something similar to disapppearing messages hapenned to me twice already. A whole mail box fails to show on the screen when selected from the Mailbox menu. The icon is there, inside Eudora Folder, but no matter how many times you double click on it, nothing shows on the screen. It's like the mailbox being there but off-screen, so you can't see it. I lost all messages at once. Quit, restart the machine, re-install Eudora, nothing fixes it except replace the mail box with a backup, which I fortunatelly keep up to date. This is Eudora 5.2.
