Nancy, does SBC require PPPoE or are they a "modern" provider that just feeds pure ethernet out of their modem?

Dan,

No PPPoE required with SBC here in Columbus Ohio. But, I got the impression when we signed up for DSL, that SBC was anything but uniform from place to place. That was not quite two years ago. And things do change. Since DSL is sort of mixed in with your local phone system, it could vary from place to place.

I just checked my Earthlink settings, and it does not use PPPoE either. We have Earthlink DSL here at home. I am using SBC DSL at my business.

Nancy
