<<Just picked up an 8500 on E-Bay for an O.K. price

I told the seller to keep the mouse and keyboard because I would like to use

a USB Mouse and Keyboard. BIG MISTAKE.

Can someone suggest a make/model/chip-set USB card that will work on an 8500

Mac running Mac OS 9.1 with 32 megs of ram.>>

You probably should pick up an ADB keyboard and mouse, which can be done
cheaply at thrift stores, flea markets, or the LEM Swaplist. That way, in an
emergency, you will be able to use the proper keyboard commands to start up with
extensions off, to reach your extensions manager, etc. As I understand it,
you cannot do this with a USB keyboard, since the USB driver does not load until
after the OS's splash screen is gone...too late to use such keyboard
commands. Besides, then you can use the ports on your USB card, when you get it, for
such things as card readers, cameras, PDA cradles, etc.
