Several have asked if I could share what I did to fix my 9600 and basically
what I did was run diagnostics according to the manual. It was an entire
Chapter and is way too lengthy to write about here... The manual told me
that the blinking ? meant that my start-up driver could not locate the
system software and to first check the hard drive, and then update the
driver. All of this is in the Drive Set-up Utility on my OS9.1 CD. After I
did those things, I did a clean install of my system folder. The entire
crash could have been initially caused by heat or an old battery, but no way
to ever know for sure. I know it was not bad RAM, an extension/application
conflict, or my hard drive cuz' those things have not changed, but my
problem is cured...

list mom told me I can't post the URL for the manual website, but I will
tell you all that the Apple site wasn't any help... <g> email me privately
and I'll send it to you. [EMAIL PROTECTED]
