When I got my 18G (an IBM), it was so much hotter than the 2 and 4Gs I was used to. I tried it on the bottom bay of my 7600 with a 2G on top. By subjective and paranoid feel, I got worried. I decided against the whole idea of putting it inside and fanning etc. Instead, i fitted inside an external box and run it for backup outside (btw. the external box also sits edgeways, the fan at the top being in a really good position as heat rises, a piece of cotton taped there to flutter and give reassurance) Tho, I still consider an 18G inside, I might not have another HD on top.
